Hull Clipper and Freedom Festival 2010

After 10 months circumnavigating the globe and sailing 35,000 nautical miles, the Clipper race ended in Hull on 17th July 2010.

In the marina after the impressive display by the Red Devils and seeing the boats lock in there was a further aerial display from the Black Cat Helicopter display team and a moving performance from Saxophonist Julian Smith (of Britain's Got Talent fame).

One of our 46sqm screen with integrated stage was positioned at the end of the marina and acted as the “Clipper stage’ where, once the boats were berthed there were the Clipper 09-10 presentations which saw crews, friends and family cheer on those who had taken part in the race.

This was followed by more music on the Clipper stage Mitch Winehouse and music veteran Paul Carrak amongst others.

The Clipper was followed by the Freedom Festival in September where 3 of Big TV’s mobile screens were positioned at various points and the live on stage entertainment was filmed and broadcast on screen by our camera crew using our in-house gigawave wireless links. Acts included The Saturdays, Alesha Dixon, and stars of X Factor fame. The two-day event featured a range of top-quality arts, music and cultural attractions for everyone to enjoy. The festival attracted almost 50,000 people to the city with its unique mix of music, culture and art.
